   DESCRIPTION:

   MegaDat is a flexible, easy-to-use database program
   for those who have a large database need with up to
   6 data fields.

   This program makes use of Microsoft ISAM files, which
   may be as large as 128 Megabytes, and can be very 
   quickly accessed and sorted in a variety of ways.

   The user can specify data field-names, each field
   being up to 35 characters long. Records may be sorted
   by any of the fields, and any record may be printed.

   Since this program creates a datafile [MEGADAT.MDB]
   which can hold as much as a couple billion records,
   there is no option to load or create other data files.
   Therefore if the program is used for more than one
   database, it will have to be placed in two different
   directories so that it can maintain two MEGADAT.MDB
   files.

   The program offers search function by any of the 6
   fields, as well as a variety of search criterion.

   With this version an envelope printing option has been
   added which allows you to print addresses including
   a return address on standard #10 business envelopes
   on most printers in which envelopes are fed the same
   way as paper (single-feed not lengthwise).

   Envelope addresses may be entered individually, or a
   database may be created using various indexing for
   ease of selection.
   
   There is 'on-line' help within the program and a setup
   option which allows you to customize the field names
   and you may also select a printer port from LPT1 to LPT3.
   
   
   REQUIREMENTS:

   Megadat should not require more than 640K RAM, a 286 or
   higher and a color monitor. There is full mouse support, 
   but a mouse is not required. A hard-drive is strongly 
   recommended.

   
   REGISTRATION & SUPPORT:
   This program is 'shareware'. this means that although it IS
   copyrighted, you are permitted to use, copy and share it as
   desired, EXCEPT: 1.) It MUST be copied IN FULL, with all of
   it's files, including this one. 2.) None of the files may be
   altered in any way, and 3.) No fee may be charged for it, 
   except for a small copying/distribution fee by distributors.
   You are permitted to use this software only for evaluation.
   The evaluation period should not exceed 30 days.
   
   
   HOWEVER: If you like the program, and would like to support
   the development of quality, low-cost software such as this,
   you should register it with the author. To register, if you
   have a printer, print the included file INVOICE.DOC, or if
   not, then send your fee to the address below.
        
   REGISTRATION fee is $10.00, plus $2.50 S/H ($12.50 total). 
   When we receive your fee, we will immediately ship you the 
   newest version. We offer full support as well and will try 
   to answer any questions or correct any problems you may have.
   The 'registered' version allows up to 15 characters per data
   field as well as any other improvements we make.
   
   We will also send you two MS utilities for ISAM files.
   One to compress an ISAM file after numerous deletions and
   another which can recover damaged files which may have become
   corrupted from power-failure while saving, etc.
   
   Your $10.00 fee is for ONE-SITE use of the program. This 
   means you MAY use multiple copies on multiple computers
   as long as they are at the SAME location.      

   Customized versions are also available upon written request
   and these rates are much less than you may expect.
